I am in my third week of psych..and I don't mind it! I got to watch ECT today and tomorrow I get to 'push the button'. eek!
I want to say a big yay! MY fiance's brother and his wife had their baby early this morning..haven't heard much about the delivery yet though! Juniper Evelyn Berger
Yeah..actually a lot of the patients like it and request it. In fact it keeps some patients from having to take medicine for months. One woman who I actually got to perform it on comes in for 'tune ups' as she calls it when she is feeling like she might be becoming depressed again, keeps her med free. Did you know it is actually pretty safe on pregnant women as far as I read and it can help them avoid medication during their pregnancy! Good to know!
A soon to be physician preparing myself for the craziness of residency. I am married to the sweetest and most supportive man. We are enjoying our journey together. We are also soon to be Mainers!
Woohoo! I love the name Juniper!
ReplyDeletePsych...wow. ECT...zow. I was surprised to hear it is not only still used, but supposedly pretty effective.
